Application Rates

Best Time to Apply: Only use during fine weather. Avoid applying if rain is expected within 12 hours.

Grazing and Composting:
Keep animals away from treated plants until they have completely died.
Do not compost treated plants.

How to Use on Different Plants

Woody Weeds, Trees, and Shrubs
Examples: Gorse, broom, hawthorn, willow, pine, privet, etc.
Cut Stems: Cut horizontally 2–10 cm above the ground.
Apply Gel: Spread a 3–5 mm layer of Vigilant II over the entire cut surface.
For large trunks (15+ cm wide): Make deep cuts (1.5–2 cm) around the trunk every 2–4 cm. Apply 5 mm of gel inside the cuts.
Treat 80% of stems for multi-stem plants, focusing on all main stems.

Scrambling Perennial Weeds
Examples: Ivy, jasmine, old man’s beard, vines, etc.
Cut Stems: Cut horizontally 2–10 cm above the ground.
Apply Gel: Spread a 3–5 mm layer of Vigilant II over the cut surface.

Rhizomatous Plants
Examples: Agapanthus, Kahili ginger.
Prune Shoots: Cut shoots horizontally at the rhizome.
Apply Gel: Spread a 3–5 mm layer of Vigilant II over the cut surface.
For Kahili ginger with more than four rhizomes, drill a 1 cm hole into every fourth rhizome (80% deep) and fill with gel.

Wandering Jew
Apply 16 g of Vigilant II per square metre to the foliage using a paint roller.
Flatten the foliage completely during application.

Broadleaf Weeds in Pasture/Waste Areas
Examples: Capeweed, docks, woolly mullein.
Place a small amount of Vigilant II (about 2 cm wide) at the centre of each plant.

Application Methods:
Cut Stems: For woody weeds.
Drill & Treat: For rhizomatous plants like agapanthus or Kahili ginger.
Roller Treatment: For Wandering Jew.
Stem Injection or Frilling: For standing trees and woody weeds.

Important Notes:
Always read and follow the label directions before use.
Ensure safety precautions and proper storage.
Do not forget first aid instructions in case of exposure.

Tips for use

Avoid applying if rain is expected within 12 hours.
Not suitable for use on turf, lawns, or home gardens.

General Instructions:
Visible effects may appear within 2–3 months. Complete plant death can take 6 months to 2 years, as the active ingredients (picloram and aminopyralid) remain effective for up to 2 years.

Precautions:
Keep people out of treated areas until the gel has dried.

May cause eye irritation—avoid eye contact.
Wash hands after use.
