Product Description

APPARENT Blue Dye (Apparent Blue Vegetable Marker Dye) is a liquid blue marking dye and foam marker colouring agent that is added to a spray mix so that sprayed areas can be seen, in a 20L pack. It is not a herbicide or an insecticide and does not control anything on its own.

It is classified as hazardous. The safety data sheet classifies this product as hazardous under Safe Work Australia criteria, with the signal word DANGER. It is a combustible liquid, it is harmful if swallowed, harmful in contact with skin and harmful if inhaled, and it may damage fertility and the unborn child. When using it or preparing it for use, wear overalls, PVC or rubber gloves, goggles or a face shield and safety shoes. It is not classified as a dangerous good. If it is swallowed, do not induce vomiting: wash out the mouth with water, give plenty of water to drink, and contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26.

Application Rates

General Spraying:

Use 10mL to 15mL per 10L of water (or 100mL to 150mL per 100L).
For pale surfaces, a lower rate (half) may be enough.
To mark foam: Use 40–80mL per 100L of diluted foam solution. This changes white foam to pale or deep pink for better visibility.

 

Turf Applications:

Boom Sprays (parks, ovals, fairways): Use 600–1000mL per hectare (Ha).
Greens: Use 6–10mL per 100 square meters (sqm).
Backpacks/Hand Sprayers: Use 30mL per 5 liters of water.

 

Tip: For more visible and longer-lasting markings, use the higher recommended rates.

Use higher amounts if stronger or longer-lasting marking is needed.
Storage:

Keep away from children.
Store in the original container, tightly closed, in a cool, well-ventilated area.

Safety Tips:

Do not swallow.
Avoid contact with skin or eyes.
Wear rubber gloves, overalls, and goggles or a face shield while using.
Wash your hands with soap and water after use.

First Aid:

If swallowed: Drink plenty of water and seek medical help.
If skin contact occurs: Remove any contaminated clothing and wash the skin thoroughly.

If it gets in your eyes: Rinse eyes with water for at least 15 minutes and see a doctor.
