Application Rates for Exonerate Herbicide

Use 1.0–6.0 L/ha of Exonerate Herbicide in non-crop areas. The exact rate depends on the type of weeds, their growth stage, density, and weather conditions.

Always check the Exonerate Herbicide product label for detailed rates and instructions.

Tips for use

Restrictions:

Do not apply by aircraft.
Avoid applying if rain is expected within 6 hours.
Do not spray weeds under stress (e.g., very dry, wet, frosty, or diseased conditions).
Avoid applying in hot, dry weather (above 33°C and humidity below 50%).

General Instructions

EXONERATE® 200 SL Herbicide targets broadleaf weeds and grasses.
It works by being absorbed through green parts of plants and only affects sprayed areas.
It does not stay active in the soil or provide long-term weed control.
Effects appear within 3–7 days, with full results taking 20–30 days under cooler conditions.
Apply when weeds are actively growing for best results.
Avoid use after soil fumigation or on plastic mulch, as it can cause crop damage.

Compatibility

Mixes well with most herbicides and some wetting agents for hard-to-wet weeds.
Avoid using wetting agents when applying with CDA (Controlled Droplet Application) equipment.

Mixing

Use clean water and ensure the tank is residue-free.
Fill the spray tank 2/3 full with water, then add EXONERATE® 200 SL while agitating.
Add any compatible products, then top up the tank with water.

Application Guidelines

Ground Sprayers:
Ensure even coverage. For dense weeds, spray thoroughly. Use 300–500 L/ha of water.

Knapsack/Handgun Sprayers:
Spray at recommended rates, using 500–1000 L/ha for complete weed coverage.

CDA (Controlled Droplet Application):
Best for weeds under 15 cm tall. Use 20–30 L/ha of spray volume.
Do not mix with residual herbicides or spray adjuvants.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a selective and a non-selective herbicide?

A selective herbicide kills target weeds while leaving desirable plants unharmed - for example, a lawn-safe product that removes bindii and clover from buffalo or couch without damaging the turf. A non-selective herbicide such as glyphosate kills almost any green plant it contacts, so it is used for driveways, fence lines, garden-bed prep and total vegetation control, never on lawns.

What is a pre-emergent herbicide and when do I apply it?

A pre-emergent creates a barrier in the top layer of soil that stops weed seeds from establishing as they germinate. It does not control weeds that are already growing. Apply it before the target weed germinates - late summer to early autumn for winter grass, and early spring for summer grasses like crabgrass and crowsfoot - then water it in.

Will herbicide damage my lawn?

Only if you use the wrong type. Non-selective herbicides (glyphosate) will kill or badly damage turf. Selective lawn herbicides are formulated to be safe on common Australian turf at label rates, but tolerance varies by grass - buffalo is the most sensitive - so always check the label lists your turf type before spraying.
