Application Rates

ORNAMENTAL SEEDLINGS & PLANTS – EASY APPLICATION GUIDE

1. Seed Sowing

Mix 1.5 mL per 1L of water (or 15 mL per 10L).
Apply 2 litres per square metre using a watering can immediately after sowing.

2. Transplanting Seedlings

Mix 1.5 mL per 1L of water (or 15 mL per 10L).
Apply 2 litres per square metre to seedling trays and pots.
Wait until the soil surface is dry before transplanting.

3. Treating Cuttings

Mix 1.5 mL per 1L of water (or 15 mL per 10L).
Dip cuttings in the mixture before planting.
After planting, apply 2 litres per square metre immediately and repeat every 3 weeks (3-4 times per growing season).

4. Pot Plants

Mix 1.5 mL per 1L of water (or 15 mL per 10L).
Dip young plants before potting.
Apply 100 mL per 100-110mm pot, 150 mL per 120-130mm pot.
Repeat every 3 weeks (3-4 applications per season).

5. Bulk Soil Treatment (Preventative)

Mix 250-300 mL in 10-20L of water per cubic metre of soil.
Apply to bulk soil before use in pot plants.

6. Recreational Turf

Use 45-65 mL per 100m² in enough water to cover the area.
Lower rate = Preventative treatment.
Higher rate = Curative or high-risk preventative treatment.
Repeat every 3-4 weeks as needed.

Tips for use

Proplant Fungicide belongs to Group 28 fungicides. Over time, some fungi may develop resistance, making the product less effective.

Mixing Instructions

Fully dissolves in water.
Simply add the concentrate to water and stir well.
The mixture remains usable the next day.

Application Methods

Can be applied using a watering can, injection equipment (e.g., Gewa), or conventional spray equipment.
Use low-pressure spray nozzles (50-100 kPa) for high-volume, coarse sprays.

Compatibility

How do I know if my lawn has a fungal disease?

Fungal disease usually shows as patches rather than the general thinning you would see from grubs or drought - circular brown or straw-coloured rings (brown patch, dollar spot), a greasy dark edge in the morning, or a coloured smoke ring around the patch. It is most common in warm, humid weather, after heavy dew, or where the lawn stays wet overnight.

What is the difference between a contact and a systemic fungicide?

A contact (protectant) fungicide stays on the leaf surface and stops spores establishing, so it is applied before or at the first sign of disease and reapplied regularly. A systemic fungicide moves into the plant and can halt an infection that has already started, giving longer control. Rotating between different modes of action reduces the chance of the disease building resistance.

When should I apply a preventative fungicide?

Apply preventatively when conditions favour disease - extended humidity, warm nights, and long dew periods through late spring and summer - especially on lawns with a history of brown patch or dollar spot. Once disease is visible you are switching to a curative program, which is slower and more expensive than prevention.
