Application Rates

General Application Rates (Simplified):

Ornamentals & Cut Flowers: Use 50–90mL per 100L of water.
Tree and Vine Crops: Use 15–100mL per 100L of water, or 300–750mL per hectare (Ha).
Field Crops: Use 12mL per 100L of water, or 100mL–1L per hectare (Ha).
Other Crops: Use 300–750mL per hectare (Ha).
Citrus, Blackberries, Raspberries & Blueberries (for Qld Fruit Fly Control): Use 25mL per 100L of water.

Specific Application Rates

Cotton: Apply no more than twice per season, ideally once. Use a second spray only for high mite pressure.
Apples, Capsicums, Citrus, Hops, Pears: One spray per season.
Tomatoes: Up to two sprays per crop for mites, up to five sprays otherwise.
Strawberries: Two sprays per season.

Important Notes:
Abamectin works only on contact and has no systemic effect against Queensland Fruit Fly (QFF).

Tips for use

Before Spraying:
Rain: Don’t spray if rain is expected—it won’t work properly.
Watering: Avoid overhead watering for 24 hours after spraying.

How to Mix:
Half-fill the spray tank with water.
Add the product.
Fill the rest of the tank with water.
No wetting agent is needed.

How to Apply:
This product works by being absorbed into leaves and stays effective for weeks against sucking mites.
Cover leaves thoroughly for the best results.
Any product left on the surface will break down quickly.

Safety Precautions:
Re-entry: Only enter the treated area after the spray has dried. In glasshouses, wait 24 hours.
If early entry is necessary, wear protective gear (clothing and gloves).
Drift: Avoid spraying on windy days to prevent it from drifting to other plants or areas.

Protecting Nature:
Don’t let the spray reach waterways—it’s harmful to fish, aquatic life, and bees.
Avoid spraying flowers when bees are active.

Storage Tips:
Store below 30°C in its original container.
Keep in a cool, ventilated area away from sunlight.

Safety Directions:
Poisonous if swallowed or absorbed through the skin.
Avoid skin, eye, and respiratory contact.
Wear protective gear: overalls, gloves, goggles, and a respirator (if needed).
Wash your hands and clean protective gear after use.

First Aid:
Poisoning: Call 131126 or a doctor immediately.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.
If Swallowed: Don’t induce vomiting. Drink a glass of water.
Eyes: Rinse with water right away.

A contact insecticide kills pests it touches directly or that walk across a treated surface; it acts quickly but does not last long. What controls lawn grubs and armyworm?

Lawn armyworm and sod webworm are controlled with a registered turf insecticide - a synthetic pyrethroid such as bifenthrin for fast knockdown, or a longer-residual product for season-long protection. Are these insecticides safe to use around pets and children?
