Product Description

SureFire Termiticide and Insecticide contains 100 g/L fipronil as a suspension concentrate (1L pack, Schedule 5 poison). The label covers the protection of structures from subterranean termite damage, and the control of subterranean termites and ants around domestic and commercial structures, as set out in its directions for use.

Termites: the label describes soil treated zones around buildings, treating poles and fence posts, and treating termite nests in poles and trees or in wall cavities. For soil treatments it refers Licensed Pest Control Operators to Australian Standard AS 3660.2, and it recommends regular inspections (at least annually) by a competent Licensed Pest Control Operator. We recommend a licensed pest control technician for termite work on buildings.

Ants: the label lists nuisance ants in the external areas and surrounds of domestic, commercial, public and industrial buildings and structures (treat surfaces 300 mm out from where the building meets the ground), and spot application to nesting ants in domestic situations. Both use 6 mL of product in 1 L of water. The label says a surface spray gives up to 3 months control of ants.

Read the label before use. Avoid application around edible plants. Do not apply to excessively wet soil, before or during heavy rain, or where surface water is present. It is highly toxic to fish and aquatic organisms and dangerous to bees. Remove pets and cover or remove food and water containers before spraying. The label calls for chemical-resistant clothing, a half-facepiece respirator and gloves. See the Application Rates tab.
