Product Description

What is CK 88?

CK 88 is a balanced NPKS fertiliser from Incitec Pivot — one of Australia’s most trusted fertiliser manufacturers. With a high nitrogen base plus phosphorus, potassium and sulfur, it’s a reliable all-round feed for summer-active lawns and turf, and equally at home on vegetable, forage and row crops.

Who it’s for

  • Lawns & turf: couch, kikuyu and other warm-season grasses that do their growing through the warmer months.
  • Sports grounds & playing fields: keeps high-traffic turf green and recovering.
  • Growers: veg, forage and row crops on alluvial soils with a high phosphorus status.

Why it works

The nitrogen drives leaf growth and colour, potassium builds stress and wear tolerance, sulfur supports protein and chlorophyll production, and the measured phosphorus suits soils that already hold good P reserves. The result is steady, even growth rather than a quick flush that fades.

Analysis (NPKS)

  • Nitrogen (N): 15.1%
  • Phosphorus (P), total: 4.4%
  • Potassium (K), as chloride: 11.5%
  • Sulfur (S), as sulfate: 13.6%

Potassium supplied as muriate of potash (potassium chloride).

Pack size

25kg bag (covers approx. 830m² per application at the lawn rate).

Application Rates

Lawns & turf (couch, kikuyu, playing fields): 3kg per 100m² per application.

Broadacre / crops: approx. 300kg per hectare.

Frequency: apply 3× a year — March, September and December. Reduce frequency through winter when warm-season growth slows. For over-sown winter fields, a winter application can help.

Always water in thoroughly straight after spreading so nutrients move into the soil.

Tips for use

  • Best suited to summer-active grasses like couch and kikuyu.
  • Spread evenly — a broadcast/drop spreader gives the most consistent result and avoids streaking.
  • Water in immediately after application.
  • Do not apply as a liquid through irrigation, and do not use as a stockfeed supplement.
  • Apply to dry foliage and avoid spreading right before heavy rain to reduce run-off.

Frequently asked questions

What products does a basic lawn-care program need?

Four things cover most home lawns: a fertiliser matched to the season, a selective herbicide for broadleaf weeds, a lawn-grub (armyworm) treatment for late summer, and a wetting agent to keep water penetrating in the dry months. A seaweed or liquid tonic is a useful extra for stress recovery and root health.

What are lawn grubs and how do I treat them?

In Queensland lawns, lawn grub usually means lawn armyworm - caterpillars that feed on the leaf at night and can brown out a lawn within days in late summer. They are controlled with a registered turf insecticide such as a bifenthrin spray or a longer-lasting granule; treat at the first sign of damage and again if activity continues. Curl grub is a different pest - the C-shaped beetle larvae that chew roots.

Why will water not soak into my lawn?

Sandy and sandy-loam soils become water-repellent (hydrophobic) when they dry out, so irrigation and rain run off or pool instead of soaking in. A soil wetting agent breaks that repellency and lets water carry down to the root zone. It is most useful heading into summer and on new or sand-based lawns.
