Description
What is Broadleaf Weed Killer (Dicamba M)?
Broadleaf Weed Killer is SureFire’s Dicamba M — a selective, systemic herbicide combining 340 g/L MCPA with 80 g/L Dicamba, both present as dimethylamine salts. Selective means it goes after broadleaf plants and leaves grasses largely untouched, so you can treat weeds growing through turf or pasture without wiping out the grass with them. It is a Group I herbicide.
Who it’s for
- Homeowners dealing with broadleaf weeds through an established lawn
- Turf managers and greenkeepers maintaining sports fields and public turf
- Graziers treating broadleaf weeds in pasture
- Croppers controlling broadleaf weeds in cereals
- Councils and contractors managing weeds across larger areas
Why it works
Two actives, two mechanisms. MCPA and Dicamba are both synthetic auxins — they mimic the plant’s own growth hormones and force uncontrolled, disorganised growth the plant can’t sustain. Because they move systemically through the plant, they reach the roots rather than just burning off the top, which is what stops the weed coming back. Combining two actives broadens the range of weeds covered and reduces the chance of resistance building against a single mode of action.

Before you spray
- Only spray weeds that are actively growing — stressed or dormant weeds won’t take it up
- Don’t spray if rain is likely within 4 hours
- Weeds should be dry — no dew, no recent rain
- Don’t mow for 2 days either side of spraying
- Wet the leaves thoroughly
- Hold off fertilising for 2 weeks afterwards
- Keep stock off treated areas for 7 days; keep pets off until dry
- Do not apply to legume pastures or anything containing clover, lucerne or medics — it will kill them
