Product Description
WETTER 600 is a 20 L pack of PCT Reactor Wetter 600, a surfactant with 600 g/L nonyl phenol ethylene oxide condensate (APVMA 60788). The label says it is for use with herbicides, insecticides and fungicides, and that it increases wetting and spray coverage. It is a spray additive, not a weedkiller or pesticide on its own.
How much to add. The label gives these rates: horticultural sprays 10 mL per 100 L of spray (2 mL per 15 L knapsack); weed killing sprays 12 mL per 100 L for high volume power spray, 60 mL per 100 L for low volume boom spray and 2 mL per 15 L for knapsack; paraquat and diquat herbicides 200 mL per 100 L (30 mL per 15 L knapsack); soil residual herbicides such as diuron or atrazine 125 to 500 mL per 100 L depending on the product.
When not to add it. The label says to add it to horticultural sprays except those known to contain adequate wetting agent already, and to add it to selective herbicides only where their own label directs, because use outside label directions may reduce crop selectivity. Do not add it directly to undiluted sprays containing wetting agents. Spray only to the point where leaves are just wet: excessive use causes run-off of the active ingredient and loss of efficiency.
How to use it. It mixes easily with water and should be added directly to the spray tank. The label says it can be used with alkaline sprays. Always follow the label of the pesticide you are adding it to. The label copy we hold is the 1000 L pack label, with the directions printed for all pack sizes.
Before you buy. The label says it may irritate the eyes and skin. It asks for cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, elbow-length PVC or rubber gloves and goggles. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or the Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26. Keep out of reach of children, and store in the closed original container in a cool, well ventilated area.
